Apple finally took off the wraps of the latest and smallest MacBook. The new 12-inch MacBook weighs a mere two pounds and is 13.1mm thin. It comes with a stunning Retina Display with a 2,304 x 1,400 resolution. And it is the first MacBook to ship with one port. this new USB-C port can be used for data transfer, video out, and charging.

This new MacBook also introduces a new fanless design that is capable of dissipating heat and makes it more quiet than ever. It will be powered by Intel’s new Core M Broadwell CPUs with battery life promised up to nine hours of web browsing or 10 hours of movie playback.

Its full-sized QWERTY keyboard features a new butterfly mechanism and Force Touch feedback trackpad. The butterfly mechanism replaces traditional keyboards’s scissor mechanism and its supposed to make typing more precise and feel better. The Force Touch trackpad is built with four individual force sensors underneath a glass surface that lets you work with varying range of pressures and replaces the old right click feature. For example, presser harder on a pad when playing a video in QuickTime and it fast-forwards the video. This pressure recognition feature hopes make pressing on the trackpad more accurate.

The new MacBook will be available in gold, silver, and space gray models, much like the iPhones and iPads. Starting price will be US$1,299 and it will start shipping on April 10th.
