A new documentary on how The Last Of Us Part II was made is on its way

There are only a few games from the past decade that had bigger shoes to fill than The Last Of Us Part II did. It was the sequel to what many refer to as the greatest story ever told on PlayStation. Or in any video game, for that matter.

The game was held to such a high standard that anything short of spectacular for the sequel would be considered a complete and utter disappointment. But Naughty Dog delivered and then some — it won a few prestigious accolades for TLOU2, actually.

Luckily for us fans, Naughty Dog was kind enough to shoot tons of behind-the-scenes footage from when TLOU2 was still in its early stages. Now said footage will finally see the light of day through a new upcoming documentary entitled Grounded II: Making The Last Of Us Part II.

Grounded II gives us a proper look at how the actual movements for the game are simulated through the actors, as well as how the graphics and gameplay have been tuned and refined further,

What’s unfortunate about Grounded II was that filming, er, ground to a halt when the pandemic hit. Frankly, we’re not not sure up to which point in time the documentary would reach. That being said, we’re still stoked, because this sheds a different light on what is one of PlayStation’s most popular titles to date.

Coincidentally, the new trailer has dropped right as The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered is released. Sounds like fun, and we’ll readily jump back into the game just to shoot a clicker or two. If we do, we’d probably skip a most gruesome scene at the start of the game, though. We wouldn’t want sit through that kind of torture ever again.
