A few days before Computex 2016, Acer already previews its many devices coming out of the computer expo. Here’s a quick look at some of the consumer products the company is outing:
Switch V 10 and Switch One 10
These 2-in-1 hybrid notebooks both come with 10-inch IPS displays and run on Intel Atom processors. Both come with Acer’s Snap Hinge latchless magnetic hinge. The V 10 has a leg up on the One 10 since it has a fingerprint reader, USB-C port, and more color options. The V 10 can come in either 32GB or 64GB options with extra 500GB of HDD storage as well as two USB Type-A ports when used with keyboard dock.
The two Windows-powered devices are pegged to take on Chromebooks with price points starting at U$249 (around P11,600) for the Switch V 10’s basic model and US$199 (around P9,200) for the Switch One 10.
TravelMate P2
For the business users who still need to work with CD/DVD drives, the TravelMate P2 gives you that option. It’s no Apple MacBook Air looks- and weight-wise but it will get the job done that you need it to. It comes with either 14- or 15.6-inch displays, sixth-generation Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphics, and up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. These, of course, come with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed. Prices for the TravelMate P2 start at US$599 (almost P28,000).
Liquid Zest Plus
Acer’s newest mobile phone is the Android-based Liquid Zest Plus. It’s an LTE-enabled smartphone with a 5.5-inch display, sizable 5,000mAh battery (which Acer says can last for up to three days on a single charge), MediaTek MT6735 chipset with quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and up 16GB of storage (with microSD expansion). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front shooter as well as DTS-HD Premium Sound. The Liquid Zest Plus is priced at US$199 (around P9,200).
