Bending over backwards – Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11s

Lenovo’s IdeaPad Yoga 11s straddles the fine line between laptops and tablets. It takes a simple flip and fold to convert this hybrid into any one of its four modes to handle any situation.

  • This Yoga 11s packs the power of an Intel Core processor under the hood as well as the full Windows 8 operating system. Unlike most hybrids that run ARM processor, this one will function and feel like a real laptop.
  • While 720p video is more than adequate, we can’t help but wish for full HD.
  • Battery life is a respectable four to five hours of continuous use and recharge time is a fast 2.5 hours.
  • Dolby specs seemed to have done little to improve audio quality. The Yoga 11s speaks a little softer than most tablets.
  • It might be disconcerting at first but you’ll soon get used to resting the tablet on the keyboard keys. Getting used to the small power button, however, is another story.
  • This hybrid is small enough to comfortably stow into carry-on luggage, which is a real plus for frequent travelers. It is also light enough to be carried around all day.

The verdict:

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11s-4

Costing considerably less than a decent laptop and similarly sized tablet, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11s will satisfy your needs and then some.
