Hanging out with the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2

Last November, Lenovo revolutionized how everyone use tablets with the introduction of a new breed of tablets into the Philippine market. The flexible Yoga line can stretch and bend in ways that deliver unique experiences in technology. The most innovative of which is the Yoga 3 hybrid laptop wherein users can bend the screen a full 360 degrees, turning it into both a laptop and a tablet. The acrobatic laptop has enjoyed widespread popularity since its debut at the annual Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year. Lenovo is not one to leave its other devices behind.

This June, Lenovo Philippines is launching its Hangout campaign which puts the Yoga Tablet 2 in the spotlight. Leading the campaign are Lenovo’s new hangout ambassadors, dancing beauty queen MJ Lastimosa and singer, actor and model Markki Stroem, both of whom will be making appearances in promotional events, roadshows, and fan meet-ups. Lenovo intends to show how much fun it is to hang out with the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2.

The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 is armed with an Intel Atom Processor Z3745, 2GB of RAM, up to 32GB of internal storage, and up to a 9,600mAh 3-cell battery.  It comes with an 8MP rear and 1.6MP front shooters. It comes in an 8-inch, 10.1-inch, and 13.3-inch variants. The earlier two are equipped with Dolby Digital surround sound audio, while the 13.3-inch variant comes with JBL speakers with a subwoofer. To top it all off, the biggest variant is also equipped with a built-in projector of 20,000 hours lamp life.

But what sets the Yoga Tablet 2 ahead of the tablet pack is not its impressive features, but the flexible kickstand which cements its place in the Yoga line. This stand can be bent into four intuitive modes: HoldStandTilt, and Hang.

The Hold mode allows users to hold the tablet in the conventional way but with a firmer grip using one side’s more cylindrical design. In Stand mode, the tablet can be used to enjoy movie marathons which is amplified using the surround sound Dolby Digital speakers at the front.

Tilt mode is a luxury often enjoyed by non-Lenovo tablet users who bought a separate cover to go with it. With the Yoga Tablet 2’s kickstand, this tilted luxury can be enjoyed even without a separate cover. “The Yoga Tablet 2’s Tilt mode is perfect for playing with apps. I thrive on social media and I enjoy keeping everyone posted about my life, so the Yoga Tablet 2’s mobility and portability features are perfect for me,” said Markki Stroem.

The Hang mode is useful for a hands-free tablet experience. The kickstand can be used as a handle to hook the tablet on the wall, leaving your hands free to do other things like cooking while viewing the recipe on the tablet. “I love taking selfies and group photos when eating out with friends or hanging out with kids, so the Yoga Tablet 2’s front and back cameras are great features. My friends and I cook sometimes, so I can make use of the Hang mode to view recipes when we have our cookout sessions,” said MJ Lastimosa.

As part of the Hangout campaign, Markki and MJ will be visiting select upcountry and Metro Manila-based Lenovo Exclusive Stores. Lenovo will also be holding promotional contests, whereby users get the chance to go on an Ilocos Heritage Tour with the brand ambassadors. The Hangout campaign will also be driven by social media, and Lenovo fans can look forward to viral Facebook activities.
