Megaworld Lifestyle Malls officially launched its inaugural Coffee & Matcha Festival on September 25 at Venice Grand Canal, McKinley Hill. In partnership with the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, the kickoff event was marked by a ceremonial first sip, followed by an array of curated fairs and hands-on workshops designed for public engagement.
As the first event of its kind for Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, the festival aimed to bring together the growing community of coffee and matcha enthusiasts while showcasing high-quality beverages from its mall partners.
During the official launch, attendees enjoyed several engaging activities, such as workshops on whisking matcha and crafting lattes, a coffee painting session, Yukata demos from the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, and a wheel-throwing experience from Layman’s Coffee and Odangputik Art Space.

Festival highlights
The festival featured a sensory journey into the world of coffee and matcha, where attendees visited pop-up stores that offered flavorful and well-crafted beverages.
Two matcha masters graced the event. Chotto Matcha provided an authentic matcha experience straight from the green tea plantations surrounding Mt. Fuji. In addition to serving aromatic matcha drinks, Matcha Mama brought a playful touch with its Art Capsule, where attendees bought matcha-inspired stickers.
Tim Hortons was also around, serving a range of special brews that attendees surely loved. For those who wanted the best of both worlds, several brands had both coffee and matcha available, so attendees didn’t have to choose. These included MOD Coffee, Pukawi Coffee, Olivia & Oona, Coffee Cat, Pickup Coffee, and Layman’s Coffee.
For a cool escape from the heat, attendees indulged in Kurimu’s unique matcha and coffee ice cream. This refreshing treat transformed these well-loved drinks into a new form and texture, satisfying cravings in a whole new way.
The festival will run until September 28 at Venice Grand Canal, McKinley Hill, followed by stops at Southwoods Mall in Biñan, Laguna from October 9 to 12, and Alabang West Parade in Las Piñas from October 18 to 19. The festival is packed with amazing surprises, so everyone is invited to attend and join in the fun.
