5G-enabled Realme X50 launched in China, Specs + Price

Realme officially joins the 5G bandwagon with the launch of its first 5G-powered smartphone in China, the realme X50.

The realme X50 boasts a contemporary design, reliable performance, and of course, an affordable price tag. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, the first 5G-integrated chipset of Qualcomm. This chipset supports SA and NSA and 5G bands such as n1, n41, n78 and n79; and it can still also connect to 2G, 3G, and 4G bands.

With 6.57-inch of screen real estate, it features a hole-punch LCD display with 90.48 % screen-to-body ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. This display supports not only the Sunlight Display Technology but Dark Mode as well. There is no in-screen fingerprint scanner here, instead, the fingerprint sensor is integrated in the power button. Additionally, the X50 is powered by a 4,200mAh battery with 30W VOOC flash charging

The realme X50 also features a quad-camera setup with a 64MP main camera, a 12MP 2x telephoto lens guaranteeing 5x optical zoom and 20x hybrid zoom, an 8MP 119° ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP ultra-macro lens. The front cameras feature a 16MP f/2.0 wide primary lens along with an 8MP 105-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. For video recording, the phone packs UIS Max Mode, live bokeh capability, ultra-wide-angle framing and 960fps slow motion.

The phone is also the first realme smartphone to feature the brand-new realme UI design. The new UI features a clean, natural look with customizable icon shapes to appeal to its young market. One cool feature is that it allows two people to listen to audio simultaneously via wireless earphones as well as take a call while listening to music.

The realme X50 5G comes in different storage variants—6 GB, 8GB, 12 GB RAM and 128 GB and 256 GB ROM.

It comes in to colors: Glacier Silver and Polar Blue. Pricing starts at CNY 2,999 (~US$431 | P21,854) for the 12 GB + 256 GB version.

Realme X50 Master Edition

There is also a special master edition of the X50, where Realme partnered with industrial design master Naoto Fukasawa. The Master Edition comes in two options: Point and Line.

The bold design of the phone keeps you staring, gives off futuristic vibes with its glass indium plating. Inside, the realme X50 Master Edition features 12GB of RAM and 256GB ROM, released at CNY 3,099 (~US$445|P22,597).

Philippine Release

As of writing, we have no word yet if it will be released locally. But Realme reports that it is currently working closely with local network operators, internet companies and app developers to boost the development of 5G and expand the market.
