The series tagline Rethink Design is brought to life with the device’s Horizon display which features an ultra-curved screen that seemingly melts to the sides of the device, giving it a sleek, borderless look. Volume control functions are also set as tactile sliders on either sides of the display and embedded within is an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Powered by the Kirin 990 5G chip, the Huawei Mate 30 Series delivers blistering performance with remarkable efficiency. Employing the world’s first multi-NPU (Neural Processing Unit) cores and a 16-core GPU, the Kirin 990 5G offers tremendous computing power yet unheard of in the consumer space. The chip also boosts camera performance on the Mate 30 significantly using a DSLR-level BM3D Image Noise Reduction algorithm— the first on any smartphone in the world.

The future of smartphone photography
Huawei has made it its core strength to bring smartphone photography to a whole different level. The Mate 30 Series again rethinks what is possible with smartphone cameras, especially with the Mate 30 Pro. Featuring a SuperSensing Leica Quad Camera System comprised of a 40MP Cine Camera, 40MP SuperSensing Camera, an 8MP Telephoto Lens, and a 3D Depth-Sensing Camera, the Mate 30 Pro is a world-class photography powerhouse. Capable of capturing super high dynamic range even at the most difficult low-light scenarios, the SuperSensing combo illuminates any shot with natural vibrancy and strikingly high detail.
The Telephoto Lens supports 3X optical zoom, 5X hybrid zoom, and 30X digital zoom. As for the 3D Depth-Sensing Camera, it shoots “Pro-Bokeh” images that feature real-time background blurring and immaculate depth-of-field shots.
Shooting videos on the Mate 30 Pro offer a similarly mind-blowing experience, as the 40MP Cine Camera supports an incredible ISO 51200 for superb nighttime videography. Brand New UI
Huawei’s very own EMUI 10 officially debuts on the Mate 30 Series, bringing an artistic, magazine-like experience for its user interface. To make the UX easier on the eyes, EMUI 10 optimizes numerous visual elements for a system-wide dark mode, which also extends to third-party apps. The Mate 30 Series also employs a Deterministic Latency Engine underneath the interface, which cleverly recognizes specific tasks and actions performed by the user and allocates resources according to the prioritized actions. The Engine also features naturalistic visual feedback for all touch interactions, making the device feel like an extension of the user’s thoughts.
