In a few weeks, the LG G4 will be launched to the global market to what it hopes to be widespread acclaim. Throughout the past weeks leading up to the launch, we’ve been offered teasers, leaks, and whatnot from LG’s new flagship. Here’s what we know so far:

Oh my leather! Last week, we saw the G4 for the first time. Most noticeable was the use of leather. From the microsite opened for the phone, it was confirmed that this is indeed real leather, not a faux version. The leather back will be available in six colors. For users who prefer leather just on their car seats, the G4 will be available in metallic gray, ceramic white, and shiny gold.

16 million pixels! Another big hit from the leaks came from the details about the camera. We’ve got confirmation now. The G4 will sport a 16MP camera, a leg up from the current industry standard of 13MP. Plus, the camera will light up the world with an f/1.8 aperture. Not only will your photos be clearer, but you can take better pictures with low-light and fast-action conditions. And here’s another curve ball: it has RAW support, histogram, white balance, manual focus, EV, shutter speed, ISO, and exposure control. It can double as a professional camera!

LG UX 4.0! LG’s custom Android ROM, the LG UX goes 4.0 in the LG G4. The LG UX 4.0 is notable smarter with Smart Notice 2.0, Smart Calendar, Expert Camera, and Quick Shot. You can create formulas to automate tasks. Plus, the phone gives tons of recommendations and automations based on given information. Expert Camera groups photos automatically based on location. Smart Notice and Smart Calendar gives recommendations based on time of day, preferences, and the like.

Crystal clear! The G4 uses a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen (2560×1440). This screen uses an IPS Quantum Display for better color. LG excels in the TV industry so expect it to bring their power to the smartphone world.

Besides these confirmed features, the LG G4 will come with a 3,000mAh battery. We’re hoping this will be a leg up from the battery issues of G Flex 2. We don’t have clear confirmation on the much awaited hardware specs. There’s speculation that it’ll be armed with a Snapdragon 808 chip. We were hoping for the flagship 810, but a few notches down won’t make it too shabby. Accessories will also be available for the G4.

The rumored price will be around P36,000.

In a few weeks, the LG G4 will be launched. We hope to update you as it releases!
