Vivo’s new stars are here, V15 and V15 Pro are now up for pre-order

he best feature of the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro is one you can’t spot at first glance. But it’s something you can’t help but find really cool. These new midrange smartphones come with a pop-up selfie camera! And now, they’ve officially popped up in the Philippines.

This isn’t Vivo’s first attempt at putting a retractable camera on its phone. Last year’s NEX phone introduced the concept. Now, you’ll be able to try it out yourself with these new phones.

The upside of having a hidden front camera is that it leaves the display unencumbered by a notch. You get a big, full-screen experience. The V15 has a bigger 6.53-inch LCD display, while the V15 Pro has a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen. The latter having a screen-to-body ratio of 91.64 percent.

That hidden camera isn’t a slouch either, sporting a 32-megapixel sensor. If you’re worried about its durability, Vivo promises the camera can withstand a force of up to 120 kilograms and can be raised at least 300,000 times.

Vivo pairs this with a triple-camera setup in the back. The V15 Pro gets a 48-megapixel main shooter, while the V15 gets a 12-megapixel one. Both also get an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

The V15 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and FunTouch 9 based on Android 9.0 Pie. The V15 runs on a MediaTek Helio P70 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. This also runs on FunTouch 9.

If you don’t want to use the camera for facial unlock, both come with fingerprint sensors. The V15 Pro uses an in-display sensor, while the V15 has a rear-mounted one.

The Vivo V15 retails for P17,999 and comes in Glamor Red and Topaz Blue, while the Vivo V15 Pro goes for P23,999 and comes in Coral Red and Topaz Blue.

Both phones are now available for pre-order until March 29th, Friday. Those who pre-order the V15 will get an NBA Premium Gift Set that includes a Bluetooth speaker and premium NBA case. Meanwhile, those who choose the V15 Pro, which has a pre-order period until April 11th, will get a JBL Clip 3 Bluetooth speaker. Those who place advance orders get an extended six-month warranty and a six-month screen protection warranty for P500.
