One of the main selling points of smartphones nowadays is their camera. Whether that is to take a fancam of your favorite KPOP idol during a concert, to capture Europe’s historical architecture in the midst of one of your travels, to take your “Meal of the Day” photo for your Instagram story, or even to just taking selfies and snapshots to keep memories of you and your friends, you would prefer a camera that could do its part: take quality photos and videos.
People would want to be able to capture their everyday moments with a device that they can easily carry around, and what better than the gadget that they already hold and use the most? Co-engineered with ZEISS, vivo V60’s cameras may just hit that spot for you.
Design and build
The V60 sports a quad curved screen, making the viewing experience more seamless and allowing for a more comfortable grip compared to those with sharper edges. The ultra-narrow bezel is barely noticeable, giving you decent screen real estate.
The Summer Blue finish has a bit of an iridescent touch, and it’s great for those who want a subtle and calm color. The vivo V60 also comes in Berry Purple for those who want an even greater pop of color, and Mist Gray for those who prefer a more sleek and neutral look. The size and weight of this phone have barely noticeable differences between the different colors. The Mist Gray version is lighter at 7.53mm and 192g, while the other colorways come in at 7.65mm and 200g.
The IP Rating on the vivo V60 is IP68 and 69, which means it is dust-tight and can withstand prolonged submersion in water around 1 meter deep for 2 hours, as well as high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, allowing you that extra bit of confidence in the event your phone gets wet. This phone has dual SIM card slots for added flexibility, which could be extremely useful when you travel and need a secondary local phone number.
For sound quality, this phone has Dual Stereo Speakers, which are decently loud, although they sometimes have a bit of clipping and distortion on the highest volume. It also doesn’t sport a headphone jack, as with the majority of phones nowadays. The volume and power buttons are all found on one side (the top right section of the phone), while the SIM card slots are found at the bottom edge of the phone, alongside the USB Type-C charging port and bottom speakers.
Display

The vivo V60 has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display that peaks at a brightness of 5000 nits. The 120Hz refresh rate also feels pretty responsive, which is good for productivity and can also be very useful for those who are into gaming. It has a 2392×1080 resolution with a 387 ppi, which allows for a clearer screen, sharper details, and contributes to a high-quality viewing experience.
Camera
Here, we talk about the jam-packed features on this phone’s camera. As mentioned above, a great camera on a phone may be what attracts you to choose one over the other. You’d want a phone that delivers great quality and is versatile enough to fit your needs and do well in every situation, and the vivo V60 has a lot of interesting things to offer.
ZEISS, known for its optics, co-engineered the vivo V60 camera lenses. The vivo V60 has four cameras, allowing you to switch between varying focal lengths that may suit you best in different scenarios. The Main Camera, Super Telephoto Camera, and Front/Group Selfie Camera all contain 50MP ZEISS lenses, while the ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera contains 8MP. The Main Camera has Sony’s IMX766 1/1.56” Flagship sensor, while the Super Telephoto Camera has Sony’s IMX882 Sensor with a 1/1.95” large sensor.
These relatively large sensors allow you to get more light, which leads to better low-light performance and a higher image quality, thanks to having more detailed photos. Both of these lenses also contain Optical Image Stabilization, allowing you to worry less about camera shake and movement, especially when taking videos or night photography. You are also able to switch between the five different focal lengths that are mainly used in photography to level up your portraits: 24mm Landscape portrait, 35mm Street portrait, 50mm Natural and Classic portrait, 85mm Figure, and 100mm Close-up.

In the middle of taking photos, the camera app also suggests different modes, like entering Food Mode when taking photos of food. If you’re an avid concertgoer, the ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera and OIS 10x Telephoto Stage Portrait could help you get those really close-up shots. The lenses do an okay job at night photography. You’d only have to manage expectations with the noise and the blurriness for fast-moving subjects. Otherwise, the bokeh is decent. You are also able to choose the type of bokeh that you would want for your photos.

There was this one feature of the Camera app that I really enjoyed using and played with a lot. When in the “Photo” tab in the camera application, there is a “swipe to enter Film Camera” feature. This mode allows you to enter a different camera mode with a UI that resembles a film camera, while also having access to the different focal lengths.

In this mode, once you take a picture, it will show an animation of your photo “developing and going out” of the film camera. You are able to see the different photos you took from this film camera when you click on the “developed” photo and swipe to view the rest. These photos also show up in your main album gallery. You are also able to choose between different border colors and designs, different film simulations or presets like Classic Negative, and could even choose to enhance your portraits if you would like. This is great since it allows you to customize your “film photos” to your liking. I really enjoyed switching between different film simulations since it gives you that extra relief of not having to worry about adjusting your colors, already having a vibe that you may want for your photo. It’s great because I really feel like these photos are “ready-to-post.”
The camera features on the vivo V60 don’t stop there. You could do even more with your camera by using the different AI features available while in the camera app, and using the AI Image Studio for post-processing the photos you’ve taken. The AI Four-Season Portrait transforms the backgrounds of your portrait to be a different season if you would like it to be — a very interesting feature with surprising results, though not perfect.

AI Erase 3.0 not only works by removing unnecessary clutter or distractions from your photo, but also removes glare from reflective surfaces. AI Magic Move can let you move a subject in your photo to a different area if needed. AI Image Expander can help you expand your backgrounds or change the aspect ratio of your photo if needed or preferred, filled with the capabilities of AI.
AI Photo Enhance could also give you a clearer photo of what you took. The AI-powered zoom with the AIGC detail recovery helps add even better clarity to your extremely zoomed-in images. Additionally, when talking about lighting, the vivo V60 does have dual physical lights, and the AI 3D fill light could enhance your night portraits even more. If you don’t have the best lighting wherever you are, the vivo V60 also has something to deal with that for you. The AI Aura Light Portrait gives you better lighting, even if you’re in an area that isn’t well-lit. When taking selfies with the front camera, the screen also lights up in order to give you better lighting in darker rooms. I was pleasantly surprised to have found this feature, and it is a very nice and welcome feature that I feel a lot of people will appreciate.

Performance
Aside from the camera, the vivo V60 also offers decent performance. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, this chip can be well-welcomed by mobile gaming enthusiasts. Being able to multitask and have seamless streaming capabilities could be something that would be extremely useful for a lot of users.

With this chip delivering 27% faster CPU performance, 30% faster GPU performance, and 26% greater gaming efficiency than the previous generation, this allows for ultra-responsive gaming where you won’t have a hard time with possible stutters or lags. I’ve tested the gaming performance of this phone, and have been satisfied with the results.
It handles games like EA Sports FC Mobile really well. This phone also has an Ultra Game Mode feature to allow you to further customize your gameplay preferences. You can change these in the settings. You are also able to open a side panel in the midst of the game, showing you a Performance Panel and more Game Tools.

You can see options ranging from Esports mode, Mistouch prevention, to even a Voice changer option. The Performance Panel allows you to customize your CPU and GPU usage between Battery Saver, Balanced, or BOOST mode, and even lets you choose your Refresh rate from Smart switch, Standard, or High — all of which I have tested while playing Call of Duty: Mobile, and the phone handled it very well. All of these modes allow for even more added customizability to your gameplay, whether you want to prioritize your gaming performance or your device’s battery usage.
OS and UI
The vivo V60 uses 15 Funtouch OS. You can personalize your vivo V60 mobile device even further with the presence of a lot of customization. You can also use the built-in split-screen feature in order to make the most out of multitasking on your phone. You can change Dynamic Effects within the phone, like adding ambient light for when you’re receiving calls or playing music with the screen off, or even customize the animations and transitions when unlocking or charging your phone.

The Themes application also allows you to further personalize your phone to fit your current style or mood. You are able to change the look and layout of your phone, going further than just changing the wallpaper. You are able to change the font and the theme, making the applications on your phone even more customized to your preference. I switched the look of the keyboard, as you can see as an example, and I really enjoyed this extra customization feature, as it made the phone a bit more personalized to the user.
For security features in terms of unlocking with your device, this phone gives you three options: Screen lock (where you create a pattern), Fingerprint, and Face. They also work relatively well and are very responsive.
AI
Aside from the Camera AI features mentioned above, this phone boasts even more AI capabilities, which you could use to make the most out of your phone for productivity and convenience. This phone uses Google Gemini for your AI assistance, allowing you to seamlessly use the AI within your device. The vivo V60 also has an AI Smart Call Assistant, which provides a live call transcription and real-time translation for your calls. AI Summary is also there to help you take note of key information if needed. For your important meetings or online sessions, AI Captions is also there to give you similar features in real time for your convenience.
In terms of safety, AI and the Global database detect and block spam, fraud, and ads, so you are able to be more careful in answering calls. If you find yourself stuck in the middle of an elevator or a place with a bad signal in the middle of a call or using the internet, AI SuperLink amplifies weak signals and speeds up your reconnection. This neat and convenient feature ensures that your calls and videos remain smooth and steady despite unstable signal bars.
Battery and charging
Containing a 6500mAh Bluevolt Battery, you are able to use the vivo V60 for a good amount of time. I was able to use the phone throughout the day without having the need to charge it. This phone also comes with a 90W FlashCharge allowing for fast charging speeds. In my testing, the phone was able to reach half charge in only half an hour from a completely depleted battery.
The vivo V60 also has a Super battery saver mode, allowing you to restrict the functionality of your phone and lower its performance for the prioritization of extending your battery life. In this mode, essential functions like accessing Messages and Contacts, and making phone calls are available. This is extremely useful in moments where you need your battery to last, but still need to use the phone’s important communication functions.
Verdict
All in all, the vivo V60 can do a lot for you, especially with the camera. It has a lot of features, allowing you to make the most out of what you can get out of your handheld device, whether that be multitasking, scrolling through social media, gaming, or taking snaps of your everyday life. This phone might be the one for you if you enjoy taking photos at a more decent price of PHP 28,999 for 12GB + 256GB variant and PHP30,99 for the 12GB + 512GB variant, with the added portability and versatility of a feature-packed smartphone.
