Vivo made waves recently when they were Tony Stark’s official phone sponsor for Captain America: Civil War. A good number of Stark’s technology in the film is the work of science fiction. While flicking holograms with the flick of a wrist is way off into the sunset, Vivo is pushing its technology to new limits with releases this year.
Recently cited as one of the top five global mobile phones in IDC’s first quarter report, Vivo hopes to keep the momentum going by launching the V3 Max, a premium midrange smartphone that boasts ‘Faster Than Faster’ performance with features that rival even flagships.
The Vivo V3 Max is crafted in a CNC-machined metallic body, finished with zircon sand coating. The smartphone uses a 5.5-inch 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass with Full HD display. Internally, the V3 Max is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). Out of the box, the phone comes installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop, outfitted with Vivo’s official FunTouch OS 2.5.
The Vivo V3 Max also carries a superfast fingerprint scanner that allows users to unlock their phone in 0.2 seconds from wake mode and 0.5 seconds in sleep mode. The scanner is also accurate enough to work regardless of which way you position your finger.
The 13MP rear camera is programmed to start in less than a second upon opening the app. The 8MP front camera is programmed to shoot even with just gestures and speech made in front of the camera. Both cameras claim to focus on their subject in as fast as 0.2 seconds.
The phone’s eight cores enable app switching in practically no time at all. The split screen feature allows users to balance two apps on the same screen.
The V3 Max is powered by dual fast charging engine compatible with Qualcomm’s QC 2.0 international standard, ensuring compatibility with certified fast chargers in the market. The phone carries a 3,000mAh battery inside.
As for availability, the V3 Max will be available for purchase starting May 21 for a suggested retail price of P16,990. Meanwhile, customers can already preorder the phone in major MemoXpress, Mega Cellular, Fonetwist, ePhone, Twinline, CyberWidget, Flasher, and Silicon Valley stores in Metro Manila. Customers who pre-order will receive a pair of Vivo headphones when they claim their phones on May 21. Moreover, buyers will also receive a Vivo tumbler, a Vivo selfie stick, Vivo stand ring, and an on-the-go USB cable until supplies last.
