SM, together with Visa, now accepts contactless payments in all its establishments and affiliate stores. The retail company boasts that they are the first in the country to do so for their segment.
Through simply tapping of your Visa cards on a payment terminal for your transactions, you’re given a faster and more convenient way of payment from SM and its affiliate stores. With this, payments under P2,000 no longer require dipping, swiping, or signing.
Cardholders will be able to make contactless payments in 5,000 contactless terminals across 59 SM Stores in 68 SM Supermalls in the country.
“We are pleased to work with Visa to introduce contactless payments and drive innovation at our retail outlets. As times change, so do the needs of our customers,” said Chelo C. Monasterio, president for The SM Store. “With this new payment solution, we can continue to provide Filipino shoppers with a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience at our stores.”
