Freedom of movement is an important part of working out. Your clothes shouldn’t get in the way or make you feel uncomfortable in any way. And that’s what UNIQLO is hoping to offer you with its new UNIQLO SPORT collection.
“UNIQLO takes pride in making comfortable clothes that improve the way Filipinos live, and this philosophy also applies to our active wear,” says Katsumi Kubota, chief operating officer of UNIQLO Philippines.
The Japanese fashion brand wanted to share with us how “functional and stylish” these new pieces were by asking us to take part in a Flyweight group boxing class in Bonifacio Global City. What better way to try out UNIQLO’s DRY-EX technology than actually getting sweaty in a class?
UNIQLO had me wear its Comfort Bra (P990), DRY-EX Crew Neck Short Sleeve Shirt (P790), and DRY-EX Ultra Stretch Shorts (P990) during the work out. These pieces boast of quick drying qualities and breathable material to leave you feeling comfortable throughout a workout. Available in solid, basic colors, it’s easy to find one to suit your preference.
I sweat profusely when I work out, meaning I was really able to see how UNIQLO’s new line performs. And I have to say, it lived up to its name. The Flyweight class required a lot of movement and I never felt restricted by the clothes. They didn’t cling to me in a way that would prevent me from moving around. The bra provided ample support without being restrictive either. And I liked how low-key stylish they looked, there aren’t any big logos or brand names emblazoned on them. The material feels high-quality, too.
Introducing the rest
Aside from the top, bra, and shorts, UNIQLO is also offering ladies the AIRism UV Cut Mesh Full Zip Hoodie that combines DRY-EX tech, moisture-wicking capabilities, and UV Cut tech, to help keep you covered from ultra-violet rays if you decide to take it out on a run.
For the men, UNIQLO is offering the DRY-EX Crew Neck and V Neck T-Shirt (Mapping) (P790), V Neck T-Shirt (Shadow) (P790), and DRY-EX Knee-Length Pants (P990).
The mesh-mapping in the first shirt is best worn in warmer season as it promises better breathability by drawing the heat away from the shoulders and sides. As for the Shadow shirt, it promises long-lasting dry comfort even while you sweat. To up the style a bit, there are gradient shadow stripes on the shirt. The shorts also offer DRY-EX quick-drying capabilities and better breathability to make it easy to work out even on hot days.
