Huawei has just released their latest addition to the Huawei nova series—the Huawei nova 7. It introduces another powerful camera, a new design, and the fastest connectivity and high performance with its newest chipset.
The Huawei nova 7 maintains its pursuit in bringing a lightweight and premium design, weighing 180g with a body that is only 7.96mm thick. It is available in two colorways: Space Silver and Midsummer Purple which we have on hand.
Up front it features a 6.53” OLED FullView Display supporting a maximum Full HD+ 2400×1080 resolution. It is also certified by TUV Rheinland which reduces user strain over extended use. As an OLED display, it supports Huawei’s Always On Display (AOD). Even when the screen is locked, it can display certain information including time, date, battery status and notification count. This AOD won’t be consuming a lot of battery because each pixel lights up individually but we’ll get to know it better when we do our full review. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner to maintain its minimalist and functional design.
The nova series has also been known for having one of the best selfie cameras with the nova 7i and 7 SE both featuring 16MP front cameras. However, the latest nova 7 upgrade features a 32MP front camera with f/2.0 wide aperture lens. On top of that, it also has the latest Super Night Selfie 3.0 and 4K selfie video and video beautification.
On the back, it houses the 64MP AI quad-camera system. Comprising a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, an 8MP telephoto camera and a 2MP macro camera. The ultra-wide angle camera supports a 120° FOV. The macro photography can focus on objects as closes as 4mm. The stabilized telephoto supports 5x hybrid zoom and up to 20x digital zoom.
The high-resolution main camera can also make 4k video capture possible with 4K video electronic stabilization. It also features a dual-view video mode which can simultaneously capture both front and rear cameras.
The Huawei nova 7 is powered by the Kirin 985 5G SoC. It features an octa-core CPU running running a 2.58GHz core, three 2.4GHz cores and four 1.84GHz cores. It’s paired with Mali-G77 GPU. The 5G modem is integrated into the Kiring 985 5G SoC to support faster, smarter, and more stable 5G connectivity.
It runs on EMUI 10.1. It has a 4,000mAh battery and supports 40W SuperCharge which is said to charge up to 75% in 30 minutes.
