Just a month after officially launching the Camry Hybrid, Toyota Philippines is set to introduce another environment-friendly car in the market. This time, it’s another crossover in the form of the iconic RAV4 that will arrive in February.
The RAV4 HEV will be the second hybrid crossover and fifth overall in Toyota’s lineup. It would be alongside the Prius, Corolla Altis, Camry that was launched last December, and the Corolla Cross that was introduced back in 2020.
Apart from the hybrid technology, the new RAV HEV is expected to come with Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) and Toyota Safety Sense that includes Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Alert; on top of other standard technologies. Full specifications will be revealed ‘soon’ on Toyota Motor Philippines website.
“The rapid succession of Toyota’s HEV model introductions in the country is an indicator that Hybrid cars are now mainstream. Filipinos are ready for energy efficient mobility options with less emissions, and Hybrids offer choices that are practical and ready to use in our existing infrastructure and road conditions,” said Sherwin Chualim, TMP’s First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations.
As for the price, it’s poised to start at P2,157,000 which is P132,000 cheaper than the current LTD top of the line model. Reservations will start on January 17 in all Toyota dealerships.
