Toyota introduces load-carrying Hiace Variant

The Toyota Hiace, the country’s number one utility van, works even harder with the addition of a Cargo Variant.  The Hiace Cargo is everything The Toyota Hiace, the Philippine’s bestselling van, works even harder with the addition of a new Cargo variant. The Cargo retains the renowned dependability and reliability of the Hiace, but in a cargo-optimized configuration. Retaining just the front seats of the main cab, it loses all the rear seat benches and gains phenomenal cargo-carrying space. By providing a seat-less option, the Hiace further expands its versatility to more businesses and industries.

In 2019, Toyota Motor Philippines introduced the Full Model Change Hiace In 2019, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) introduced the Full Model Change Hiace with the addition of Super Grandia Elite, and GL Tourer variants to cater to a more luxurious markets. Meanwhile, the Commuter variant continues to be the staple people-mover used as company shuttles for private use and as a UV express to serve the public. 

The variant line-up expansion, backed by the Toyota standard of quality, durability and reliability, plus a host of new comfort, convenience and safety functionalities, made it the preferred choice in the utility van segment. As of May 2020, the Hiace holds 66% market share.  

But Toyota recognizes the need to transport cargo as well as people. “TMP in pursuit of providing for the needs of the market, has introduced the Hiace Cargo to cater to customers who have requirements to transport load in a safe and secure way. It is also timely as we are also able to cater to the needs of the market for goods transfer during this pandemic situation,” explained Sherwin Chualim, Toyota Motor Philippines First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations. “The Philippines is the largest Hiace market outside Japan. We want to continue expanding our Hiace line-up for more versatile use.”

The Hiace Cargo retails at PHP 1,101,000.00 this July.
