The Uniqlo and JW Anderson Fall/Winter Collection Lookbook

Uniqlo launched the JW Anderson Fall/Winter 2019 collection in the country last week. The fourth collaboration between the London-based Irish designer, JW Anderson, the season’s collection draws inspiration from the Great British Outdoors—specifically, from the town of St. Ives in Cornwall, England which is known for its seamless blend of art and nature. This new LifeWear collection fuses traditional elements with modern designs from JW Anderson.

“Like all the seasons I’ve done with Uniqlo, it’s always interesting to see the collection evolve through meetings with the teams and see it become this amalgamation of LifeWear and JW Anderson. I liked this idea of pops of color to make the heritage British patterns and colors feel a bit more modern. Contrasting pops of color and tartan are very present [in the collection].” says the designer

Inspired from his childhood memories, traditional British patterns such as tartans and warm Nordic designs are used as the main patterns for outerwear, skirts, innerwear, and accessories. Patterns with a classic feel are also playfully adorned with borderlines and fringes to emulate the JW Anderson brand’s character.

Reversible items have also become a standard between the brand’s collaboration. New this season are down jackets and coats with splashes of vivid yellows and greens over an earthy base. Down jackets for both men and women feature neutral and classic tones on the outside, with contrasting colors on the inside. Uniqlo’s HEATTECH pants come with triple color borderline designs to accent the item.
