POCO has recently launched another gem in their stellar lineup of devices with the introduction of the X4 Pro 5G. Dubbed as the “All-around Ace”, the smartphone boasts flagship-level specs, vast and immersive displays, a 108MP main camera, as well as 5G connectivity.
Given POCO has equipped the X4 Pro 5G with top-tier qualities, one would expect its price tag to aptly reflect its level of performance. However, at the price range of only about P17,000, the X4 Pro 5G exemplifies a shockingly great price-to-performance ratio, making it all the more a product to behold.
Design:
Available in 3 different sets of colors– Laser Black, Laser Blue and POCO Yellow –the X4 Pro 5G’s design may seem rather simplistic at first glance, but there are a number of subtle details and elements that make it stand out in its own unique way.
On its backside is a triple camera set up that is seemingly atop an outward-protruding layer, effectively putting more emphasis on this aspect of the device. Precision engraving and a shimmering design on its surface work hand-in-hand to give off a fascinating effect; light reflecting off its rear side resembles many spotlights beaming lights into the dark night sky.
With POCO armoring the X4 Pro 5G with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and IP53 splash-protection, all the more I was able to admire its silky design and consequent mesmerizing effects with the luxury to opt not to use a phone case anymore.
Display:
My first impression of the X4 Pro 5G’s screen was that it was tall, had sharp corners and very slim bezels on all sides. After all, the device does boast an impressive 6.67” AMOLED DotDisplay and 2400×1080 FHD+.
Moreover, its flagship refresh rate of 120Hz and up to 360Hz touch sampling rate are the true magicians that facilitate an excellent overall user experience; whether playing highly-intensive games, multitasking through numerous apps or simply scrolling down your news feed, the X4 Pro 5G makes all these activities much more pleasurable and immersive by improving gameplay latency and a lower response latency.
Accompanying the flagship refresh rate are many more supporting features that further improves user experience. From Sunlight display, Reading mode 3.0 and supporting DCI-P3, not only is the X4 Pro 5G’s screen relatively large, but it showcases a true-to-life visual experience as well.
On a side note, POCO has also placed NFC-enabled Dual Speakers to assist the display in delivering the best entertainment experience possible.
Camera:
Another flagship-level aspect POCO has equipped in the device is its 108MP main camera that utilizes 9-in-1 binning technology to truly capture every stunning detail and deliver a dynamic array of photos.
As previously mentioned, the X4 Pro 5G sports a triple camera set up, with an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 118° field of view capabilities and a 2MP macro camera to accompany the main camera. At the front, on the other hand, is a 16MP front camera.
POCO has also littered the device’s camera with a plethora of features to use, from slow motion, dual-video, time-lapse, super macro, movie filters and a kaleidoscope, to name a few. Not only would you be able to let your creative and adventurous sides out in multiple scenarios with these various features, but you’d be able to capture vivid and stunning photos, too.
Performance:
Being backed by the Snapdragon 5G processor, the X4 Pro 5G is built on 6nm production technology, has a great balance between efficiency and power with maximum download speeds of up to 2.5Gps, and is, of course, compatible with major 5G brands worldwide.
Its Octa-core CPU plays an integral role as its 2 ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores facilitate speeds of up to 2.2GHz. Additionally, the X4 Pro 5G is comes with 8GB RAM, as well as an additional 3GB derived from the 256GB of ROM.
