The most advanced EV from BYD has landed in PH shores: The BYD Atto 3

With the recent launch of the Atto 3 into the Philippine market, BYD allows its consumers to build their dreams of owning a reliable EV at an affordable price point. Initially previewed at the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVs) by Mobility Access Philippines Ventures Inc. (MAPVI)—the official distributor of BYD in the Philippines under the Ayala Group of Companies –the most advanced EV from BYD was reintroduced to the country last November 17, 2023 at the Glorietta Activity Center.

BYD ushers in the face of a new generation of smart electric vehicles, as the Atto 3 is built around the all-new BYD e-Platform 3.0 designed exclusively for pure electric vehicles and powered by the ultra-safe BYD Blade Battery. What Filipino consumers can look forward to the most is that not only does the Atto 3 offer advanced EV technology, but it places it easily within the grasp of tech-savvy customers, most especially those looking to venture into the EV world.

What impressed me most with the Atto 3 is the sheer range it is capable of traversing on a single full charge; available in two variants, the BYD Atto 3 Premium has a 480km range and is priced at P1,798,000, while the BYD Atto 3 Dynamic has a 410km range and is priced at P1,598,000.

In terms of recharging, the Atto 3 can regenerate fully at an astonishing 30-60 minutes using DC fast charging, while it would take 7-8 hours (or a full night’s sleep) to full charge using the AC charging.

More than just its range, though, the BYD has equipped its Atto 3 with all its latest revolutionary EV technologies hatched in its labs. BYD’s proprietary lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade Battery assists in safety, durability, overall lifespan, resistance to degradation from charge/discharge cycles, driving range and performance.

Speaking of performance, the Atto 3 has a maximum power output of 204ps, while torque is at an impressive 310Nm. 0 to 100kph acceleration is at a rapid 7.3 seconds, as well.

Moreover, in the case of emergencies or similar situations, the Atto 3 is also capable of providing power thanks to its V2L function.

Regarding its interior, I appreciated its unique design in terms looking futuristic, while remaining purposeful and aesthetically pleasing. At its center, you’ll find a vast, first-in-class 12.8-inch infotainment display. Perhaps what shocked me the most was that you could have different orientations for its screen depending on what the situation calls for, as you have the option to have it on landscape or portrait modes. Here, you can access the 360-degree camera feed, manage connectivity with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, as well as control other vital vehicle functions. As a plus for the Premium variant, the Atto 3 also has a panoramic sunroof and leather trims.

Advanced safety is also a hallmark of every BYD vehicle. The Atto 3 comes standard with Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control; LED headlamps, taillamps, DRLs; and front and side curtain airbags. Completing this suite of safety features is the ADAS Package with Stop & Go Full Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC-S&G); Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEB); Blind Spot Detection (BSD); Lane Departure Warning (LDW); and Emergency Lane Keeping Assist (ELKA).

AS AC Motors continues to expand their dealership network throughout the archipelago, the Atto 3 can first be experienced from BYD dealerships located in Makati and in Quezon Ave.
