Not everyone watches or plays games on their desktop or laptop on a table. Many prefer the portability of modern devices so they can do whatever they want anywhere, even if it’s just in a different corner of the room.
Eating while being entertained is almost a requirement most of the time, especially while binge watching or during long playing sessions. Problem is, it’s not every time that our chosen spots are conducive to such items. Luckily there’s a new kickstarter for that.
I came across the Couch Console which is basically a tray/organizer. It has a space for your phone, snacks, and has a ‘self-balancing’ cup holder for your drink so you can put the tray in any position and not spill it.
Now some of you will say this is over-engineered, overpriced, but for me, I like how they’re pushing forward accessories that go with tech. We can’t just have the best phones and still fumble around, looking for a coffee table for our snacks. Anyway.
The segments themselves are modular, meaning you can buy additional cup holders or snack pockets for your Couch Console, and not just resort to whatever comes in your package. It has a space that lets you modify things further to your liking.
There’s a USB-C plug, but the CC doesn’t have an internal battery. Instead, it lets you connect to an external power source so your belongings are still tidy, while letting your device charge.
Right now there’s 16 days to go for its Kickstarter campaign which already has a $1.8m pledge out of the original $15,000 goal, with pledges starting at $89. Estimated retail cost for the Couch Console would be at $100 while the additional items start at $5. Just remember that for Kickstarter campaigns, their timelines and releases may change.
