A two-day training experience led by coaching legends Tim Cone, Jong Uichico, and Sean Chambers, where passion meets precision on and off the court.
This June 9 to 10, the Grand Ballroom of The Bellevue Manila, a distinguished 5-star hotel in the South, will take on a new purpose, not as a venue for celebrations or conferences, but as a space for movement, mentorship, and the spirit of basketball.
In a first-of-its-kind event, The Bellevue Manila, in partnership with Coach Richard Del Rosario, a former PBA player and current Lead Assistant of Barangay Ginebra, Gilas Pilipinas National Team and Batang Gilas Youth National Team, proudly presents its inaugural Basketball Clinic. A two-day immersive training experience designed to ignite passion, sharpen skills, and deepen the love for the game.
The clinic is primarily tailored for coaches and aspiring coaches of any age, offering a rare opportunity to learn directly from some of the most respected figures in Philippine basketball through lectures, visual aids, and on-court demonstrations.
At the helm of the clinic are three of the most revered minds in the sport. One of which is Coach Tim Cone, the most decorated coach in Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) history. An American professional coach and currently the head coach of the Philippine men’s national team, Gilas Pilipinas, Cone brings with him an unmatched legacy that includes 25 PBA championships, two Grand Slams, over 1,000 coaching victories, and five Coach of the Year awards.
Joining him is Coach Jong Uichico, a steady presence in Philippine basketball for decades. Currently the head coach of the NLEX Road Warriors, Uichico is a former youth national team player who once helmed the La Salle Green Archers before rising to prominence as the head coach of San Miguel Beer in 1999. His deep understanding of the game and calm strategic leadership continue to earn respect across both the collegiate and professional levels.
Completing this extraordinary trio is Coach Sean Chambers, a name synonymous with loyalty, heart, and championship grit. Best known as the long-time import for the Alaska Aces, where he played from 1989 to 2001, Chambers has since made his mark in coaching, having served as an assistant with TNT Tropang Giga and now as the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws, where he’s mentoring a new generation of players with the same passion that defined his playing years.
More than just a training camp, the clinic includes an overnight stay at The Bellevue Manila, meals throughout the event, and a certificate ceremony on June 10 to recognize all who complete the program. Participation comes with a fee of 15,000 pesos per person. “This isn’t just an event. It’s an unforgettable moment,” said Ms. Elvie Sanchez-Quiazon, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at The Bellevue Manila. “Basketball is deeply woven into the fabric of Filipino life. Hosting this clinic with coaches who’ve given so much to the sport is our way of honoring that bond and providing a platform where players of all ages can connect with the game in a meaningful way.”
Quiazon emphasized that the initiative reflects the hotel’s broader commitment to crafting experiences that go beyond hospitality. “We’ve always believed that our role is more than just offering a place to stay. It’s about creating spaces where people learn, grow, and remember.”
The event is made possible with the support of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, Arena Plus Sportsbook, Café de Lipa, and Molten, organizations and brands whose dedication to sports development and community engagement help elevate this experience for participants and coaches alike.
With limited slots available, the Bellevue Basketball Clinic is poised to become one of the year’s most talked-about sporting events, where the lessons learned won’t just be about basketball, but about life, leadership, and legacy.
