What’s new and special about the LBX?
This is the smallest car yet to carry a Lexus badge, but it has all the luxury quality, craftsmanship and exhilarating driving rewards the brand is famous for, with a striking design that stands out on the street.
The approach is “premium casual,” but with the kind of “class above” tech and luxury features you would expect to find in larger prestige models.
Style that’s perfectly personal
The LBX offers more possibilities for personalization than any other Lexus model. Customers can choose from a great range of colors to style the car to their individual taste.
The target customers
The LBX will have wide appeal, particularly with younger, city-smart drivers who like luxury with a more casual feel – this a premium car that you’ll feel comfortable driving in jeans and sneakers. They will be attracted by the eye-catching exterior design, the premium look and feel of the cabin and the performance and efficiency of the new self-charging hybrid electric powertrain.
The driving experience
With its compact dimensions and great all-round view from the steering wheel, the LBX is perfectly at home on city streets. Highly maneuverable, its size is perfect to help you squeeze into tight spaces.
But it’s much more than an around-town commuting vehicle. The Lexus Driving Signature gives you confidence, control and comfort at all times, the kind of driving quality that’s a hallmark of today’s Lexus models.
The technical profile
The LBX has a self-charging hybrid electric system that uses the latest technologies to deliver strong performance with great fuel economy and low emissions.
The car is built on a new platform that’s been engineered to give the ride and drive quality expected of a luxury car.
The environmental profile
Every element of the LBX has been assessed and developed to reduce emissions, maximise fuel economy and minimise impact on the environment.
Lexus’ hybrid technology has a proven track record in cutting carbon emissions and is playing a key role in securing a zero-carbon future.
The style profile
The LBX’s “Next Chapter” design gives it strong visual appeal, developed with style-savvy young Europeans in mind.
There’s a completely new take on Lexus’ famous spindle grille, while inside, the look is clean, open and refined with a focused cockpit for the driver and the special kind of care and comfort that’s enshrined in Lexus’ Omotenashi approach – anticipating your every need and preference.
The safety profile
There is no compromise when it comes to safety – the LBX has just the same protection and driver help from Lexus Safety System + systems as its larger sister models.
The technology may sound complex, but it’s engineered to work in a way that feels natural and reassuring.
Where and when can you buy an LBX?
The all-new LBX is available for pre-order at Lexus Manila. Cars will be delivered to customers starting March 18, 2024.
The language of Lexus: key terms explained
At Lexus we use special terms to describe some of the key qualities of our vehicles that are unique to our brand. Here’s a simple explanation of some of those you’re like to read or hear us mention.
Omotenashi
Omotenashi is a traditional form of Japanese hospitality that is focused on making your guests feel perfectly relaxed and cared for. It’s also about recognising and anticipating their needs rather than responding to their requests. At Lexus, we strive to make every customer feel as welcome as a guest in the home.
In our vehicles Omotenashi is witnessed in many thoughtful and effective details. For example, a welcoming lighting sequence; personal preferences for everything from audio settings to steering wheel and seat positions, committed to the car’s memory and automatically activated when you open the door; and a “climate concierge” that maintains the right temperature for each individual on board and constantly keeps the air clean and healthy; and a one-touch automatic door release system – our “e-Latch”.
Takumi
The Takumi are Lexus’ world-famous artisan craftspeople, individuals who have developed exceptional skills through years of dedicated study and practice. The level of precision they achieve with the human hand, eye and ear cannot be replicated by machines.
They make an unmatched, defining contribution to Lexus luxury across many different aspects of every vehicle. This ranges from the car’s performance, honed by takumi drivers, to the look, feel and quality of the trims and upholsteries and comfort and quietness of the cabin.
Tazuna
The “Tazuna Concept” is the design principle for the driver’s cockpits in our latest models. “Tazuna” is a Japanese word describing how a rider can control their horse with just the slightest adjustment of the reins. In a car, this is interpreted by giving the driver quick and intuitive access to the main controls and information sources with smallest head, eye and hand movements. This means their focus can be kept on driving and the road ahead.
Take a look at a new Lexus and you’ll see how items such as the multimedia display, shift lever, instrument meters and steering wheel controls are arranged in close, coherent sweep around the driver, while maximizing the field of vision through the windscreen.
Lexus Driving Signature
The Lexus Driving Signature is the all-round excellence we engineer into all our cars, the combination of ride, handling, comfort and responsiveness that make for a reassuring and rewarding experience, whatever the conditions and wherever the destination. This involves perfectly balancing elements such as the suspension, chassis, power delivery, acceleration, braking, steering and noise and vibration, together with an ideal balance of body weight and rigidity.
We summarize the Lexus Driving Signature as being “comfort, control and confidence for the driver at all times”.
