No everyone needs all the bells and whistles when it comes to printers. Sometimes you just need a simple machine that can handle your basic printing, scanning, and copying needs. That’s where printers like the HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 come in.
Doesn’t have to be too complicated. It won’t take too much of your time to have this printer set up. Unlike Ink Jet printers, this Ink Tank printer comes with four separate tanks for black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. You refill these individually. HP provides a complete set of inks out of the box but you can get these individually for P275 once you run out of a specific color. While it might seem daunting to set fill the tanks with ink, if you follow the steps in the manual, it isn’t going to be too hard or messy. With the ink tanks located outside, it’s easy to check if you’re running low on ink, too.
Setting up the machine is simple, too. At 10.27lbs, it isn’t too heavy, either, so taking it out of the box or moving it around won’t be too taxing.
The only hiccup we encountered while setting the printer up was the color yellow wouldn’t come out at first. But after initializing the automated Clean Cartridge setting, we were good to go.
Quick and easy. Built for small offices or even a home office, it starts printing almost soon after you power it on. In normal mode, you get your printed monochrome word document out in under 50 seconds and around four minutes for a borderless photo printed on an A4 sheet of paper. It comes out faster after the printer has been on for a while, the former taking around just 16 seconds and the later around three minutes and 20 seconds.
With the HP Smart app, it even lets you print photos and documents directly from your mobile devices. Setup is seamless here, too.
Copying and scanning is also something you can do easily. The flatbed scanner can take up to an A4 paper and is capable of scanning a colored photo printed on bond paper at 300dpi in 30 seconds. It can scan a document in grayscale in eight seconds. And it can do the same in colored in under 20 seconds. The scanned document can be printed, saved, or shared right from the HP Smart app.
It can copy your documents or photos fairly easily, too. You just need to press the physical buttons on the printer to check whether it’ll copy what’s on the scanner in color or monochrome. It takes around 41 seconds for colored photos and 16 seconds for a word document.
Print quality is nice and crisp, both for monochrome and colored prints. It does all of these quietly, too.
A few bumps on the road. One complaint I have is that it’s prone to eating multiple sheets at once. While the feeding tray can handle 60 sheets, it’s best to keep an eye out on what you print to avoid jamming the printer.
VERDICT
The HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 takes away all the complications when it comes to your printing, copying, and scanning needs. It just gets the job done and does it well.
