After teasing its launch last December and a ride-and-drive just last month, Suzuki Philippines has finally launched the much-awaited Suzuki Ciaz. The Ciaz is a subcompact sedan ideal for the urban Asian market. The Ciaz will be offered in three model variants: the GL Manual Transmission, GL Automatic Transmission, and the premium GLX.
Definitely an unconventional name, the Ciaz stands for “City from A to Z,” a clear testament to its position in the fast-growing metropolitan landscape. The Ciaz boasts of excellent fuel efficiency and classy features that emphasize its sporty and elegant design inside and out.
Built to excel
The Ciaz is equipped with a DOHC 16V engine with VVT that churns out 92hp and 130Nm. It is developed as an “authentic sedan,” which combines a roomy and comfortable cabin with great driving experience. One of the features contributing to the Ciaz’s performance is the integration of transmission technology in its GL Automatic and GLX models.
The car’s body is also smartly designed and shaped to facilitate smoother airflow, which contributes to better efficiency. The front and rear bumper corners, front grills, underbody, and trunk lid-end are also optimized for better fuel efficiency.
Snazzy interior
The Ciaz also comes with a variety of features that make this vehicle perfect for trekking through hellish Manila traffic. The multimedia integrated audio unit comes with an Android touchscreen for the GLX, complete with Bluetooth and USB connectivity for personal devices. Its wireless connectivity features also enable access to preloaded applications, such as YouTube, Gmail, Facebook, and most importantly, Waze.
Audio and hands-free connectivity control switches are embedded in the steering wheel, which facilitates easy access to various tasks. Adding to this is the keyless push start system and remote.
Space for long legs
The sedan has bigger door cutting, which increases the amount of rear seat leg space, headroom, and shoulder room. Rounding out the spacious interiors is the equally spacious trunk, which has a luggage capacity of 495 liters, and can be closed with an electromagnetic latch and features a convenient boot light.
Safety first
Suzuki’s safety-first trademark Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) makes the Ciaz a standout in the safety department. The system boosts driver and passenger protection through a light yet incredibly strong impact absorption frame. The Ciaz is also equipped with an Anti-Brake Locking Technology with EBD.
Price and availability
The three models are available now in Suzuki dealers nationwide. The Ciaz will be available in Pearl Snow White, Metallic Star Silver, Metallic Mineral Grey, Pearl Super Black, and Prime Dignity Brown. The three models retail for the following price points:
Ciaz GL Manual Transmission – P738,000
Ciaz GL Automatic Transmission – P773,000
