To mark its 20th year as one of the leading child rescue, protection, and welfare organizations in the Philippines, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc.’s (ALKFI) Bantay Bata 163 has partnered with Filipino technology brand Starmobile to power its modernization initiatives.
As part of the partnership, Starmobile will equip Bantay Bata’s team with the PLAY Series Android smartphones that social workers can use for stakeholder coordination and digital storytelling. These devices will also be bundled with SIMs that will give them free monthly data allocation to access the most used social media and instant messaging sites in the country.
“Bantay Bata 163 continues to evolve as it celebrates its 20th anniversary,” said Jing Castaneda-Velasco, Program Director, Bantay Bata 163. “We are embracing technological innovations that can help us become more effective in our core mandate of providing a nationwide network of social services to protect disadvantaged and at-risk children, as well as enable us to defend them from new forms of abuse and exploitation, including those that happen online.”
“This partnership with Bantay Bata is proof of Starmobile’s commitment to bring the latest technologies which can be used to empower Filipinos,” said Starmobile Spokesperson Elijah Mendoza. “We support Bantay Bata’s mission of creating a safe, caring, and nurturing environment where future generations of Filipinos can develop their full potential and reach for the stars.”
