The new player in the mid-range game, the Knight Elite, brings some interesting camera features. The proprietary Star Cam technology brings the point-and-shoot experience to your smartphone. It introduces capabilities like Refocus, Chroma Flash, and Opti Zoom.
Refocus, as its name suggests, lets you adjust the focus of a shot after the fact. As for Chroma Flash, it takes two shots in rapid succession—one with flash and another without—and combines these to produce a shot that has more natural colors. And Opti Zoom is meant to improve the digital zoom feature. It’ll take multiple shots to “study” the details and improve the sharpness and texture of zoomed-in images. You can experiment with these features using the 13-megapixel rear camera with backside illumination and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Let’s not forget what powers it underneath. The Knight Elite runs on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with expansion up to 32GB via microSD. The Knight Elite is a dual SIM device with micro-SIM and nano-SIM slots; the latter also serving as a microSD slot. It has 5-inch IPS In-Cell screen made by Japan Display Inc. and Corning Gorilla Glass front and back panels. The look of the device is reminiscent of Sony’s Xperia line of phones.
The Knight Elite is powered by a 2,600mAh battery and it retails for P9,990. Starmobile is throwing in a free phone case and screen protector with this smartphone.
