Ordinary acts of heroism and courage and girl power get center stage in this new Star Wars animated series. If you’re a fan, we’re sure you’d want to get your hands on this. The best part? It’s streaming for free on YouTube. Called Forces of Destiny, these animated shorts show some heartfelt moments of heroism from some of your favorite characters, including the likes of Rey (Daisy Ridley), BB-8, Princess Leia/General Organa (Carrie Fisher), and even Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). We’re particularly fond of The Stranger with Jyn Erso helping save an alien cat and Princess Leia in Ewok Escape (because Ewoks).
The great thing about this series is that it also shows some backstories of these strong female characters. And yes, in case you’ve noticed, each episode begins with a voiceover from Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o). It’s a 16-episode series made by Marvel alum Jennifer Muro with Lucasfilm Animation. Eight episodes that are around two to three minutes in length have already been released and the other eight are coming in October. What are you waiting for? Start streaming now!
