If you were left wondering what happened to Captain Phasma (played by Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie) in The Force Awakens, well, it’s good to know the female metal-plated stormtrooper is still alive or at least we’ll get to see her in Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Gwendoline Christie confirmed her appearance in Episode VIII during a pre-Screen Actors’ Guild Awards interview. She said she’ll be in he next Star Wars film and she was “very overexcited for her role in The Force Awakens.
“I made no secret of the fact that I really campaigned for the part for a long time,” she said. “And then I was delighted when J.J. Abrams wanted to have me in the film and then wanted to cast me in this role that had originally been designed for a man.”
Well, we hope she gets more screentime in the upcoming film scheduled for a December 2017 release.
