The Xperia Z3 packs in all the features you’ve come to expect from a flagship device. It complies with IP65/68 waterproof and dust tight rating (which is considered the highest waterproofing grade). It promises up to two days of battery life, which, of course, depends on your usage levels. And it offers better camera experience as well as improved audio quality and PlayStation 4 Remote Play capability.

Under the hood of the 5.2-inch Full HD Xperia Z3, you get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU and 4G LTE connectivity. Its 7.3mm rounded aluminum frame and tempered glass panels house the 20.7-megapixel camera with 1/2.3″ Exmor RS mobile sensor and BIONZ mobile processing engine. And yes, it can record videos in 4K resolution as well.

Sony is offering new camera and editing apps to make sure you get the most out of your Z3 including AR fun, which lets you add scribbles and animations to picture; Sound Photo, which lets you add sounds to the pictures you take; and Multi-camera, which lets you record different angles using three compatible Xperia devices.

Sony is also boasting the ability of the Xperia Z3 to listen to high-resolution audio and take out ambient noise with Digital Noise Cancelling technology. Just make sure you use compatible Sony headphones like the MDR-1A line. It even offers to upscale your MP3 or AAC tracks with Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) technology to as near to high-res as possible.

For the gamers out there, the Xperia Z3 series comes with PS4 Remote Play capability. This means you can resume your PS4 games on your smartphone. You would, however, need to connect your Xperia device to the PS4 using your home Wi-Fi and the DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller with GCM10 Game Control Mount.

If a 5-inch device is too unwieldy for you, you can opt to get the Xperia Z3 Compact. This “mini flagship” packs in all those features in a 4.6-inch 720p HD display.

But if you’re on the market for a new tablet, then the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is something to look into. The 8-inch tablet is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 3GB of RAM, and Adreno 330 GPU. It promises hours and hours of entertainment with 13-hour high quality video playback. It also supports PS4 Remote Play, making it a bigger gaming devices. And it supports the new Xperia camera apps with an 8.1-megapixel Exmor RS rear camera and 2.2-megapixel front HD chat camera.

The premium smartphones and tablets will be arriving in the fourth quarter of this year at Sony Centers, Xperia shops, and authorized retailers. The Xperia Z3 retails for P34,990 and will be available in black, white, copper, and silver green. The Xperia Z3 Compact will come in black, white, orange, and green, and has a suggested retail price of P29,490. And the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact retails for P31,990.
