Ever wonder what it’s like to chase online criminals?
Cybersecurity company Kaspersky has teamed up with Mystery Manila, a pioneer in escape games in the country, to give Filipinos a chance to experience being cybercrime detectives.
In Kaspersky’s Cyber Hunt game, a player will act the role of a member of a bank’s IT team that needs to stop a cybercriminal group from stealing billions of dollars from its coffers.
In this virtual cybersecurity game, players need to find out who the perpetrator is in less than one hour.
The first virtual cybersecurity mystery game that has ever been created, Cyber Hunt will require players to apply threat intelligence so they can successfully stop the bank heist challenge. Threat intelligence is a key aspect of cyber security that helps prevent data loss, guides businesses on security measures to use against future attacks, and informs the IT community to create a collective knowledge base to fight cybercrime.
“Threat intelligence is all about sifting through piles of data. Threat intelligence can identify and analyze cyber threats targeting an organization. In real life cybersecurity scenarios, the process of tracking, analyzing, interpreting, and mitigating cyber attacks requires huge efforts using sophisticated tools and technology combined with human expertise,” said Yeo Siang Tiong, general manager for Southeast Asia at Kaspersky.
“This game, which has been produced by Mystery Manila for Kaspersky, is a basic simulation of a small aspect of a cyber attack scenario that would give Filipinos a general idea and experience of how cybersecurity experts hunt down criminals in the online world,” he said.
Kaspersky’s Cyber Hunt game has four stages which can be played by at least five people to as many as 15 people per session. Each player needs to use Zoom with a stable video and audio connection using either mobile device or desktop.
As with any game created by Mystery Manila, Cyber Hunt players will look for clues and put together pieces of evidence to solve the cybercrime mystery.
At P399 per head, the game is now available to play every hour starting at 11 am Manila time via this link: https://booknow.mysterymanila.com.
