Following five reports of units catching on fire in the US even after being replaced, it’s inevitable that Samsung announces that it has officially stopped production of the flagship Galaxy Note7.
According to a report by the Yonhap News Agency, an anonymous Samsung official said the temporary stoppage was done in cooperation with safety regulators from South Korea, the United States, and China. The measure supposedly also extends to a Samsung plant in Vietnam that does global shipments.
Samsung has recalled 2.5 million units last month after reports of some devices catching fire while being charged. If you own a Galaxy Note7, it’s time to be extra careful with these units.
