For you night owls or partygoers, taking photos of your memorable evenings is usually a struggle. Not everyone wants to carry around cameras with them, most of the time we want to just rely on that device that’s always with us: our smartphones. But these mobile devices aren’t the best when it comes to taking photos in low light. And this is what Samsung wants to disprove with the launch of the Galaxy J7 Pro.
Samsung was boasting last night at the phone’s launch of the great shooting capabilities of its newest smartphone, especially when it comes to shooting at night. The J7 Pro packs in a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture (which is larger than the f/1.9 aperture on last year’s Galaxy J7 Prime) to let in more light and help you take better photos in low light situations. The camera itself has a Night Mode feature to make it easier for you to take stunning shots in the evening. For the front-facing camera, it gets a boost from the J7 Prime, too. The J7 Pro has a 13-megapixel shooter, too, but with an f/1.9 apeture and it has a front LED flash and a wide selfie mode to get more in the shot.
Lookswise, the J7 Pro reminds us of the old Samsung flagships (pre-edge displays) and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It does give us a case of nostalgia, though. And as expected the J7 Pro feels great in hand with a full metal body and 2.5D glass. Its 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display is vibrant, too. Samsung equips this mid-range smartphone with an Always On Display so you can check notifications on the fly without having to wake the device.
In terms of internals, like the J7 Prime, the J7 Pro also runs on an Exynos 7870 octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. But this time it ships with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and has 32GB internal storage that’s expandable via microSD with a capacity of up to 256GB. Battery got a bit of a boost, too, at 3,600mAh this time from the 3,300mAh of the J7 Prime. The device also has dual SIM support and a fingerprint sensor.
Samsung is clearly taking the fight to the Chinese phone makers with the P15,990 price tag on the J7 Pro. The mid-range smartphone market is clearly an exciting segment for these brands. Plus, it gives consumers better options at more affordable prices. The J7 Pro will be available at Samsung Experience Stores and authorized Samsung dealers starting July 15th. It’s currently available for pre-order. You can pre-order the device until July 9th to get the free Samsung speaker worth P3,099.
What makes the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro stand out of the crowd is the design of the antenna bands at the top and bottom of the rear panel coupled with the flushed camera module, which is surely a head turner, though the front of the device
