Future smartphone owners will be able to store approximately 260 10-minute 4K videos with this new embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS) solution from Samsung. The company recently announced it’s begun production on a 1TB eUFS chip. It has the same package size as Samsung’s 512GB unit but has read speeds of up to 1,000 megabytes a second, which Samsung says is 10 times the speed of a typical microSD card.
Expect to see a bunch of smartphones this year with 1TB of onboard storage. Rumor has it, we might see a version of the Galaxy S10 carrying this much storage capacity.
