In an effort to get more people online, Voyager Innovations, Inc., the digital unit of the Philippine Long Distance Telecommunications Group, has introduced a new platform to let you access your favorite brands and apps for free.
SafeZone is a portal that lets you use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as their partner apps and brands without using up your prepaid load or exceeding your monthly data cap. Some of the partner brands and apps include Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Carmudi, Eat Bulaga! Mobile, Skyscanner, Zalora, Philippine Airlines, Agoda, SPINNR, Tripda, foodpanda, etc.
The free access extends to Smart subscribers with Sun subscribers to follow. Globe subscribers will also be able to access the site but they will be charged.
For Smart users who want to try this out, you have to make sure to have the Load Protect feature turned on in SafeZone. This will make sure you won’t be charged the standard P5 for 15 minutes use. And if you find yourself proceeding to a site outside of SafeZone, you will be redirected to a landing page that will warn you about this. Of course, initial setup might cost you a bit but you’ll just need at least P1 to keep using the service. You can find out more details here.
