Last February 26, 2021, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) achieved a 1000 safe-days milestone. The feat is a reflection of the commitment of MMPC in maintaining a safe working environment for its employees as it completed a total of 5.6M working hours with no major or lost time accidents. Major or Lost Time Accident (LTA) are incidents where an employee was involved in an accident and resulted to inability to report back to work. MMPC more than doubled its previous record of 2.6 million safe days in November 2019, where the automotive brand bagged the Safe Man-Hours Award from the Safety Organization of the Philippines.
“The Management of MMPC would like to commend its Safety Department team for their proactive efforts in assuring the well-being of all MMPC employees. We also would like to thank our colleagues for their discipline and cooperation to follow all safety guidelines. With this achievement, not only do we maintain a safe working environment but we also generated many cost and work efficiencies that is much appreciated especially at a very challenging time like now.” – said by Mr. Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation.
MMPC’s Safety Department under the Manufacturing actively conduct and implement programs that are geared to promote/improve safety habits. Consistent daily safety inspections and 5S and 5T activities to anticipate possible accident prone conditions. Safety memorandums are regularly issued to employees and safety signage reminders are visibly posted within the work areas to increase safety awareness. Mandatory attendance of all employees to Basic Occupational Health and Safety training to properly equip them with proper knowledge on safety.
