For the first time in the company’s history, RobocareSolutions Inc will be teaming up with a local government unit to provide world class rehabilitation services for the most vulnerable and underprivileged members of society.
“The City of Manila, through the Honorable Mayor Isko Moreno, has chosen to partner with us so we can provide assistance for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). We want to ensure that residents of Manila can have a better quality of life and a better chance of recovery,” said Tasha Rodriguez, CEO of Robocare.
“It is our vision that everyone should have access to our robotics treatment. We believe that even indigents should have the right to be treated equally when it comes to conditions that require our specialized rehabilitation program,” she added.
One of the vital products that Robocare Solutions offers is the world’s first cyborg-type robot know as “HAL,” or Hybrid Assistive Limb. With HAL, a physically challenged person can achieve a greater range of motion, and at the same time exert more motor energy than before. Making use of this system also helps accelerate the motor learning of cerebral nerves, greatly helping patients undergoing physical therapy. HAL is available in a variety of configurations – meaning that the system can cater to the needs of various PWDs.
Robocare Solutions also provides medical technology designed to assist in neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation. The Saebo product line features cutting-edge equipment that can help patients improve hand, arm, and shoulder functionality. Similar to HAL, there are many Saebovariants, including the SaeboGlove – a lightweight attachment which helps those suffering from neurological and orthopedic injuries in their hand. Aside from the SaeboGlove, Robocare also offers SaeboStretch, SaeboMAS, and SaeboMASMini. These systems offer a wide range of proven treatment techniques, helping injured patients carry out task-oriented activities, which would have otherwise been difficult or impossible.
“We will continuously tap private hospitals, government institutions, and rehabilitation clinics to maximize care for patients who need our technology. All Filipinos should have access to world class services, and hopefully, we can motivate individuals to continue with their lives without thinking about their disability,” Rodriguez said.
Mayor Moreno is known to have a soft spot for the poor since he began his term in 2019. He has always promoted an inclusive agenda where he does not want to see any of his people left out.
“This includes services that were once thought to be available for those who are wealthy. His commitment to bring mobility to patients that do not have the means to visit private hospitals only shows his great character as a leader,” Rodriguez said.
