Review: Dyson V11 Absolute+

Since the start of quarantine, most people have been counting the days they have been spending at home waiting for the time we can all finally go out and socialize. By now, people must have lost count. As we all come near to the end of 2020, having spent the last 9 months at home, we see a lot of people venturing on to new things. More people started cooking, gardening, or decluttering as they also constantly shop online.

Spending more time at home, it’s also important to make sure your house is cleaned thoroughly to avoid any bacterial growth from uncollected dust, food particles, and outdoor elements.

Dyson recently launched their new and updated flagship Dyson V11 cord-free vacuum. It now features a smart sensing and suction power adaptation for an easier cleaning job on all surfaces. It also has a click-in battery technology powered by a Dyson Hyperdymium motor. These two key innovative features which will surely cover your every household cleaning need. Now let’s have a rundown on its specs and find out if this is worth buying.

Replaceable batteries for lengthier cleaning

For deep cleaning, the V11 Absolute+ allows for easy click-in battery swapping. The vacuum utilizes Dyson’s most powerful battery pack which has seven large, high-capacity cells with nickel-cobalt-aluminum cathodes. When adding another click-in battery, the V11’s operating time is doubled to 2 hours or 120 minutes. (*Click in battery pack will be available in the Philippines soon with more details to come.)

“With the Dyson V11 Absolute, owners can now use the power, intelligence and versatility of our proprietary vacuum technology for up to two hours, enabling high-powered cleaning for longer,” said John Churchill, VP of Floorcare at Dyson.

The V11 Absolute+, unlike most vacuums, didn’t come with a charging dock. Instead, it comes with a minimalist and sturdy charging stand, which is more convenient and less messy than having to drill your charging dock on the wall or by simply putting it on the floor. I was also able to attach different cleaner heads I often use.

Dyson’s strongest digital motor

There are three microprocessors inside the Dyson V11 (within the High Torque cleaner head, the motor and the battery) which monitor performance up to 8,000 times a second, ensuring fade-free cleaning. This technology automatically adjusts the vacuum’s suction depending on the material of the floor and informs the user of the remaining time left with the current battery pack.

The Dyson Hyperdymium motor spins at 125,000 rpm. The motor contains a triple diffuser which optimizes performance and power simultaneously while lessening noise and instability. Compared to the previous version of the vacuum, this updated motor’s efficiency generates an increased 20% power in its suctioning.

Advanced filtration

The Dyson V11’s fully-sealed filtration system is capable of capturing 99.97% of particles as tiny as 0.3 microns. A further 14 cyclones propel forces of greater than 79,000g that “fling” aside microscopic particles like bacteria, dust mites and pollen.

High Torque cleaner head with a Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS)

The V11’s DLS system smartly senses brush bar resistance and communicates automatically with the vacuum’s motor and battery’s microprocessors to adapt suction power depending on floor type (such as carpet and hard flooring). Meanwhile, the High Torque cleaner head contains stiff nylon bristles and an integrated digital motor which can deeply drive into carpets in order to get rid of ground-in dirt. A brush bar spins up to 60 times a second while anti-static carbon fiber filaments catch dust from hard floors and hard-to-reach crevices.

Responsive LCD screen provides real-time reports

The Dyson V11’s LCD screen displays current performance (including the power mode being used and remaining run time) so the owner can further control and improvise their cleaning. The LCD also visually reminds the owner when they need to clean the filter in order to attain ideal performance. It details any blockages within the vacuum and how to clean them. Sensor magnets attached to the filter assembly also inform the owner when a filter isn’t properly connected.

Cleaner heads

  • High torque cleaner head
  • Soft roller cleaner head
  • Combination tool
  • Mini motorized tool
  • Mini soft dusting brush
  • Stubborn dirt brush
  • Wand

Dyson’s broad range of cleaner heads can be used on different surfaces. It can be used for your car, reach high areas at home, dust-off the walls, and clean underneath the furniture which can be difficult to reach.

Cleaning your house with Dyson makes everything easier, and on top of that it also applies when cleaning your Dyson machine. Just simply point and shoot by pulling the red tab on its bottom to open the bin cover.

Verdict

The flagship Dyson V11 Absolute+ retails at P49,900 making it the most expensive among Dyson’s vacuums. It has the same size as its predecessor V11 absolute launched last year with a price tag of P49,500. With its P400 difference, Dyson has made quite a few but really useful upgrades with the Absolute+ version. These upgrades include the replaceable battery and the Auto mode that adjusts its suction power across different floors. It’s quite pricey for a vacuum but that’s mostly because of all the tech behind it and how powerful it can be. It’s also a great investment because of how heavy duty it is and with how long it can last.
