Reef Philippines is at it again reconnecting us with nature through some good vibes and high tides. For Free the Sea Movement’s third year, they made sure to make it the biggest one yet with more bands and more activities! The best part? It’s all for a good cause.
“Apart from the proceeds to be donated to WWF – Philippines and the La Union Surfers Club, we also aim to make this event a zero plastic one. It’s high time organizers also take on the responsibility for the amount of trash we leave on the shores for these events. We want people to know that they can have just as much fun MINUS the disposables,” said Marnelli Gaerlan, marketing head for Reef PH.
For this year’s FTSM, Reef encourages people to bring their own tumblers and utensils. Any single use plastic is strictly prohibited. This is to support their partnership with WWF – Philippines’ campaign, #AyokoNgPlastik, as well as Reef’s own campaign, #BeachFreely. Everyone is also invited to join the beach cleanup happening on the morning of September 15.
September is also known as the Coastal Cleanup month and we’re excited to do our part in giving back! For more details, check below.
