Gaming guru Razer beefs up its mechanical keyboard with another switch option, cosmetic updates, and a magnetic wrist rest.
The global lifestyle brand for gamers started its update with the BlackWidow Chroma V2, offering a new Razer Yellow switch option alongside its existing Razer Orange and Razer Green switches. Pegged to be created with FPS and MOBA gamers in mind, the new alternative switch banks on actuation, reset responsiveness, and durability and adds a few more extras: linear and silent design plus reduced travel distance between keys. This translates to the same tactile, springy feedback sans noise, and easy access to crucial keys during gaming.
In addition, the Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 also boasts individually backlit keys—customizable from any of the 16.8 million colors plus a variety of effects—powered by Razer Chroma technology, a proprietary feature that can be synced with across devices.
“We’ve made improvements across the board and are still the only company designing keyboard switches made specifically for gaming,” says Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan. “The Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 builds on the legacy we started in 2010 with the original BlackWidow by offering legendary durability and comfort.”
And boy, does it deliver. Matching its superior durability is comfort through a magnetic wrist rest that optionally attaches to the bottom of the keyboard to help keep gamers comfortable during marathon gaming sessions.
“This is the best mechanical keyboard we’ve ever produced,” Tan adds.
Select models of the Razer BlackWidow Chroma 2 have begun shipping now. One more plus: price remains unchanged from the previous iteration, leaving this at P10,499.
