If you thought the Huawei P20 Pro is the best the company has to offer, then you might not have been paying attention to the more premium device the Chinese company launched alongside the new P20 series.
The Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS brings in all the best parts of the P20 Pro and pushes the boundary further. You get two fingerprint readers (one is an under-glass fingerprint sensor, the other is at the rear), 512GB storage option, 6-inch OLED screen, Kirin 970 processor, Android 8.1, 6GB of RAM, IP67 rating, 4,000mAh battery with wireless charging support, and no top notch in sight for those top notch averse. And of course, you get the Leica co-branded triple camera system you’ve seen in the P20 Pro. You can get it in eye-catching red or classic black.
How much will this set you back? A LOT. The 256GB version is priced €1,695 (around P108,800) and the 512GB version is priced at €2,095 (around P134,500).
No word yet if this phone will make its way here but Globe did bring the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 10 before in very limited quantities. For now the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS is launching in China, Hong Kong, and Macau on April 12th, and will then be launched in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK. It’s expected to launch in Southeast Asia in the middle of May so we’re keeping our eyes peeled for it.
