Lighting industry veterans Philips are officially launching their new line of lighting solutions this month, including the Scene Switch Bulb, the Deco Classic, and the Candle and Luster LED bulbs.
The new line of LED-based products seeks to address practical lighting concerns, which are in turn affected by the aesthetic qualities of light as well. Studies compiled by the Illumination and Engineering Society (IES) show that lighting plays a crucial role in cycles of both productivity and relaxation in human beings. The society also stresses the importance of appropriate lighting for different situations, and promotes the use of LED lighting on the grounds of efficiency and low electric consumption.
The latest in a long line of bright ideas
In line with these findings, Philips’ new range of LED solutions combine the practical and the visually appealing, providing perfect lighting to suit different activities carried out in various parts of a home or building.
The Scene Switch uses an internal switching system to go between two different light tones with the flick of any regular light switch. The clear-bodied Candle and Luster series give you the warm white hues of incandescent lighting, but with the reliability and lowered operating costs of new LED technology. While the Deco Classic series is a line of decorative bulbs that retain the vibe and luminescence of old filament-based bulbs, but reimagines them with 90% lower operating cost and virtually none of the harmful substances found in older designs.
The Gen 5 LED series is the latest iteration of the company’s flagship LED offerings. Serving as a direct replacement for their incandescent and compact fluorescent lamp line, the Gen 5 LED series builds upon its predecessors with more energy savings, and longer life, but now in a more affordable price.
