During the Petron TriAction Performance Run last January, drivers lauded the recently reformulated Petron Turbo Diesel during its field test for its “best performance in terms of power, engine response, and acceleration.”
The Petron TriAction Performance Run – Diesel Edition took place between Manila to Baguio for a week-long series of tests on challenging mountain roads in Baguio up to Ambuklao, and then from Baguio to Halsema—the highest elevation in the country’s highway system, and then finished with a fuel economy run from Baguio back to Manila.
Test drivers rated the performance of the diesel fuels in a stringent double-blind procedure—different diesel fuel were used each day for four days by the drivers who drove he same uphill-downhill route.
Different vehicle categories and brands were utilized in the field test for further analysis of Petron Turbo Diesel’s versatility in its optimum performance across vehicle types. The vehicles were: a BMW X1, a European luxury subcompact crossover; a Toyota Innova, a bestselling utility vehicle; a Honda CR-V Diesel, the 2017 Car of the Year-Philippines; a Nissan Urvan, a popular people-mover; a Ford Everest and Ford Ranger as representatives of the American brand; Isuzu mu-X and Isuzu D-MAX , leaders in commercial vehicles; and a Ssangyong Tivoli XLV, a Korean SUV model.
By the end of the test, drivers ranked the test fuels through letter codes and the Petron Turbo Diesel came out on top.
