Sales proceeds of the catalogue will be donated to the National Museum of Singapore to support the preservation of the arts and heritage in Singapore.
Patek Philippe is pleased to announce a collaboration with the National Museum of Singapore, an institution of the National Heritage Board, Singapore, as a joint effort in the preservation of the arts and heritage. The Watch Art Grand Exhibition Singapore 2019, which will take place from 28 September to 13 October at the Marina Bay Sands Theatre, is the largest Grand Exhibition to date. The Exhibition will showcase Patek Philippe’s tradition of high-precision watch manufacturing, while celebrating its heritage in the domain of Haute Horlogerie. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the art and delicate craft behind timepieces inspired by the natural cultural landscape of Singapore and Southeast Asia.
In celebration of the Watch Art Grand Exhibition, Patek Philippe will retail for anominal fee, a limited- edition commemorative catalogue that highlights the hundreds of historical timepieces, current collection (including 2019 new models), Rare Handcrafts, and Grand Complications that will be showcased during the exhibition. 100 percent of the proceeds from the sales of the catalogue will be donated to the National Museum of Singapore, reinforcing and entrenching a strong message about Patek Philippe’s values in continuation of the brand’s efforts to contribute to the arts and heritage in the country.
Patek Philippe has been instrumental in developing the appreciation of the art of mechanical watchmaking amongst watch collectors and enthusiasts in Southeast Asia. In conjunction with this endeavour, Patek Philippe has supported cultural performances, as well as arts and heritage projects in the region, and have previously collaborated with the National Museum in support of the refurbishment of the Glass Rotunda, a multilevel Museum space and the Story of the Forest installation – a crowd favourite inspired by the Museum’s prized William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings.
The National Museum of Singapore is the oldest museum in Singapore. With a history dating back to 1887, the National Museum seeks to inspire with stories of Singapore and the world, presenting fresh and thought-provoking perspectives of Singapore’s history. The proceeds from the Watch Art Grand Exhibition will support the National Museum’s exhibition offerings and programmes to provide visitors with more quality opportunities to enjoy and experience Singapore’s shared heritage.
