"Emptiness" on bezrybye
Sometimes I'd like to look behind the scenes and find out how the movie turned out the way it did. Did you shoot the first half of the movie for twenty dollars, did someone like it, did they give you another million? Did you save on everything you could to stay on schedule in the finals? The director conceived an arthouse, but it took too much money, and he was forced to please a wide audience?
From this introduction, it's probably not difficult to understand that the film is somewhat... uneven. For the first forty minutes, it seems that the director literally had only a camera and desperate friends who had nothing to lose. A brutal man in a jacket and his mute friend behave as if they still can't forgive that they weren't cast in the roles of Indiana Jones and Silent Bob, respectively. A policeman, his wife, a doctor — all this looks like a skit on the theme of "the siege of the fortress", a once-popular horror genre that has nullified the overabundance of zombie movies. But then everyone gets a second wind, and the film rapidly mutates (yes, this is a spoiler) into some kind of Lovecraftian mystery buff with a Doctor "Want-to-get-high-ask-me-how", monsters and the triangle stated on the cover. Moreover, the turning point in the narrative and visual sequence happens so suddenly and it is so cardinal that only the faces of the actors remind us that this is the same film that had been a formal amateur theater at the hospital for almost an hour before. And as soon as you finally get involved, the movie ends.
Actually, going back to trying to guess what was going on behind the scenes, maybe the movie was supposed to be a TV series. There are a lot more leads and all sorts of leads than are needed for such a finale. The sect, the experiments, the triangle, after all. All this looks like at least something like a timekeeping of "Strange cases". The explanation given to the doctor's motivation is like an attempt to plug a dam with tow, all the Ku Klux Klansmen suddenly dissolve and find themselves overboard from the steamer of modernity, although there was clearly a warm place for them in the screenwriter's plan. "Emptiness" was clearly the brainchild of a man who creates a plot through ramified premises, rather than the simple needs that the actions of the characters reduced to. There was such an amateur fantasy series "Mythica", shot exclusively by enthusiasts, it was so successful that they managed to get Kevin Sorbo there, which is an undoubted victory for a project of this level. If the creators of "The Void" had the courage to do something like this, perhaps we would have a good indie horror movie, like those that are played every year at Lovecraft festivals, only better. But it wasn't enough. Mostbet BD https://mostbet-bangladesh.biz – Online Casino, Sports Betting in Bangladesh.
