Oris introduces a hall-of-fame watch with its Hank Aaron Limited Edition. It is named after none other than the legendary Hall-of-Fame baseball player and civil rights activist Hank Aaron. As an African-American baseball player, Hank endured adversity on and off the field, but it never stopped him from achieving legendary feats such as eclipsing Babe Ruth’s near-40-year home-run record.
For the Hank Aaron Limited Edition, Oris has used its Big Crown Pointer Date model as a canvas. This means that the watch contains an Oris in-house 754 automatic movement as well. Aesthetically, the timepiece is detailed in the colors of Hank Aaron’s uniform and baseball team, with its tones of red and blue adorning a white dial. Further accenting this color scheme are the baseball-toned off-white watch hands and strap stitching. The navy leather strap adds a nice contrast to the dial and silver 40mm case. Additionally, the watch will come with a more casual blue, red, and white NATO strap.
Oris is only making 2,297 models of the Hank Aaron Limited Edition to commemorate each of Hank’s RBIs (runs batted in), which is still a Major League Baseball record to this day. To further commemorate Hank’s off-the-field humanitarian achievements, proceeds from the watch will also support the Chasing the Dream Foundation.
