The watch also comes with a sturdy and branded denim travel pouch to match the strap.

Momotaro’s legend was founded in 1992 by Hisao Manabe. The brand’s roots lie in Manabe’s textile company located in the small coastal town of Kojima in Okayama. The mantra of “no compromise on quality” is founded throughout their handmade goods, which are now produced and sold by 140 people across factories, stories, and offices in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Okayama.

Momotaro is named after the Japanese folklore hero of Okayama. So famous is Momotaro’s legend that the Okayama airport is even named after him. The Okayama Momotaro Airport is the central symbol of the city and prefecture. Momotaro Jeans decided to name and model itself after that same legend, striving to live up to the name by creating the best indigo denim in the world.

Momotaro Jeans weaves and dyes only long-staple and high-quality cotton. They use only deep-indigo rope dye for a fantastic fading process. Momotaro doesn’t compromise on the production process either, using vintage shuttle looms to create a textured and hand-made feel to their denim, with carefully handsewn details such as the famous white battle stripes on their jeans’ back pocket.

The collaboration between Swiss Oris and Japanese Momotaro is the perfect match, as both are independently run enterprises that obsess not just on quality but on making bold choices. Oris ethos lies in “going your own way” just as Momotaro believes in “earning your stripes.” Because of this shared attitude, spirit, and craftsmanship, their coming together was only natural.

The Oris x Momotaro Divers Sixty-Five special edition watch retails at PHP 111,263.41. It features a soft and sleek green dial with complimentary and contrasting bronze markers illuminated by Super-LumiNova. This dial has a gradient effect, starting centrally with a lighter sea green and fading into a darker emerald green hue as you approach the outer rim of the dial. Protecting this dial is a 40mm casing, sapphire top glass (domed on both sides with internal anti-reflective coating), special engraved stainless steel case back, stainless steel screw-in security crown, and 100 meters water resistance. Its movement is the automatic winding Oris 733 (with a bi-directionally rotating red rotor).
