Orient Star has added two new Layered Skeleton models to its Contemporary Collection. The dial designs are inspired by textile patterns and enhanced by light blue coloring. The stylish models are suitable for every occasion from business to casual.
Layered Skeleton features an original dial composed of two layers and takes its inspiration from the elegant layering of suit textiles. The upper layer dial representing the outer material of a suit is designed with a herringbone pattern, while the lower layer dial has a paisley pattern with a sheen reminiscent of a cupra lining. The contrasting fabrics provide a unique accent to the overall look of the watch. The large semi-skeleton opening on the dial is paisley shaped, and the open-work design of the power reserve display also reveals the inner workings of the mechanical movement. This sense of depth combined with the textile patterns creates an eye-catching look.
The latest models feature a refreshing blue color on the herringbone-patterned upper layer dial and paisley-patterned lower layer dial. In contrast to the previous white or dark colored models, the subtly different smoky light blue tones of the new models emphasize each layer and add a colourful accent to the metallic feel of the dial. It is the perfect watch for today’s businessperson who embraces a casual style and wants to express their individuality.
The limited-edition model of 1,000 pieces worldwide, does not feature the textile pattern on the dial, but the grey upper layer and blue bottom layers create a sophisticated two-toned color scheme that can be matched to a range of styles from blue to grey. In addition to a metal bracelet, the limited-edition model comes with a grey calf leather strap to change the look of the watch. The textile motif extends to the gentle curves of the case’s lugs that evoke drapes of fabric.
Furthermore, the dual-curved sapphire crystal with non-reflective coating for increased legibility also complements the model’s unique design. The metal bracelet with short five-piece links adds an elegant touch as well as comfort for the wearer. The mechanical automatic in-house calibre F6F44 movement offers a 50-hour power reserve and stable high accuracy. The highly sophisticated mechanism is visible beneath the Layered Skeleton, complete with Orient Star’s power reserve indicator.
