Orient’s diver design models are an important part of its history and have represented everything that the brand stands for since their launch in the 1960s. The model affectionately known as Orient Mako, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has maintained features such as a sporty design and water resistance to 20 bar. The new models introduce colour variations to the Orient Mako 40 solar-powered, which was developed alongside existing mechanical watches for fans seeking added convenience.
Orient Mako 40 brings a new dimension to the diver designed models, which is popular both as a fashionable item and for everyday use, with a compact, simple and light new style. The first difference is the case size: the new model has a more compact 39.9 mm case compared to the 41.8 mm diameter of its predecessor, and is also 1.6 mm thinner at 11.2 mm.
Inside these compact cases, the in-house solar movement converts energy from light sources into electrical power providing accuracy of +20 to -20 seconds per month and power reserve of about 12 months at full charge. The dials with sunburst finishing and three-dimensional indices enhance the sporty design and come in four colors: green, baby blue, ivory, and cocoa brown. The lustrous color dials are beautifully enhanced by the contrast of the rotating bezel with a grey anodized aluminum ring. Luminous Light is used for the indices and hands, allowing the wearer to read the time even in the dark.
With a compact size for wearing comfort, casual dial colors, and convenient solar-powered movement, Orient Mako 40 solar-powered model is appealing in new ways and is an ideal diver designed watch suitable for any style or occasion.
