The fact that we’re living in the age of the selfie is a truism that needs no saying. For several phone launches, OPPO has been positioning themselves as the masters of the selfie with a particular interest in the F1 series. Is it any surprise that their phones’ front-facing cameras are leaps ahead of their rear ones?
OPPO’s latest announcement—the OPPO F1s—is the latest to follow the trend. Dubbed as the “selfie expert,” the OPPO F1s is equipped with a whopping 16-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 lens, 1/3.1-inch image sensor, and 1080p video capabilities. The front camera is designed to take clearer and more vivid images.
Underneath its tough hardware, the OPPO F1s comes with a troop of supplementary camera features in its software. OPPO is improving its beautification features with Beautify 4.0 which reduces blemishes but maintains that natural skin look. It also comes with the standard buffet of filters for more creative shot selection. The camera is also capable of taking selfie panoramas for longer shots.
OPPO isn’t leaving its rear camera behind, though. Armed with a 13-megapixel shooter, the OPPO F1s is capable of taking beautiful shots day and night with a 1/3.06-inch image sensor.
The OPPO F1s is as beautiful as the photos it took. OPPO’s classic beautiful and sturdy metal engineering graces the F1s’ exterior. Its 5.5-inch screen is complemented by two thread-thin metallic bands and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for hardiness. The screen itself is an IPS LCD screen with a 720p resolution.
Fingerprints are also one of the OPPO F1s’ focal points. It sports a fingerprint sensor in its home button. Despite only sizing up at 0.1mm thick, the sensor boasts of an imperceptible unlock speed of 0.22s. The F1s also has the One Touch feature which assigns an app to open upon unlocking for each finger for up to five fingers.
For performance, the OPPO F1s carries a 1.5GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6750 64-bit processor chip. It also has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). Inside, it comes installed with Android Lollipop 5.1. This is supplemented by OPPO’s ColorOS which boasts of 41% faster app launch time and 32% faster photo album boot speed. It is powered by a 3,075mAh battery.
The OPPO F1s will be available starting on August 19, 2016. Pre-selling period will be from August 12 to 18. Finance company Home Credit will offer the F1s at an affordable six-month installment plan for as low as P2,165 at zero percent interest. The OPPO F1s will retail for P12,990.
